Living out sorrows

through fingertips..

knowing

I can't wrap words

around them forever

                   they won't hold

There is no flutter

of wings

around the light

I left on in the hallway,

no unfurling sails

frantic

lost motions

                   to a quiet room

Breathless

over this heartless

anchoring

a heave of sighs

drags its weight

to the window

mistaking

reflections

for flesh.

Nicely done.
