corners
there have been many

and i’m tired of right-angled surprises
the way they bend my days
into curves

i orbit around without batting an eye
or curl of lip
finding myself losing it

all the way to venus and back

where rivers wander and goddesses
collide with the dawn

the great sea
lectures me in frozen resemblance
and i wonder if i could skate into
her wakeful horizon
wet bottomed and all

to rest at witch’s shore
arms and legs tangled in greet

The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change.

OMG Maree!!  I love this!!!!!
..and I'm keeping it!
Hugs YOU!

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Popping in between chores to enjoy this dream of a poem...

"to rest at witch’s shore
arms and legs tangled in greet"

Well, sure. But I get to keep the remote, right?

gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

love you luscious, and yes--this is the most poetical expression of frustration I've encountered today--

"and i’m tired of right-angled surprises
the way they bend my days
into curves"

Nodding...it's damned annoying.

Hugs you.

I go cook now.

Much enjoyed the feel of this, well done.

Maree,

Your poem here as well as other posts are so incredibly evocative, vivid, and thought provoking that I struggle with finding the right words to reply.  None seem to do justice to the clarity, brilliance, and deftness of your words.  Your poems are among the favorites of mine to absorb.  I find no faults in your construction, your flow, or your messages.  All of them on a grand scale leaving me wanting of more to read.  High caliber writing...as usual.

Warm regards my poetic friend,

Kevin

I'll take two tickets please. One for me, and one for my muse. We need to escape the rat race here on earth. Great write, indeed.

What an intelligent reference, you are certainly communicative through your images
and employ a great message throughout

any trip to Venus, should include lunch... the journey can be a long one... and we tend to get hungry after while..
