Is it the flash of lashes
that draw morning near

or the paleness of femininity

Is it the strongboxed embrace
of maleness

that stirs the valleys from sleep,
provoking limbs to reach
toward one more vision of life

I grasped for the french kiss of coffee
and scrambled up last eve’s reprieve
when thunder came from what appeared
to be a clear canvas

This lured me to the porch
where I searched
into the vibrant blue above me
again...the hollow roll of drumspell
vibrated my breath

and I thought to myself
“this is the threat of wisdom”
this rare pulse that comes from nowhere,
awakening me
as if my edges have been merely a dream,
slight and seamless L’air du temps, ou vent

How I imagined, the she of me
burning for reasons that never slept,
and for the first time in many years
the minutes fell from me
and I no longer felt a need to gather them

Reg,
You could make a morning person out of me pretty quickly! I love this piece. Thank you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Reg,

Such a beautiful write so full of colors, pictures...all senses filled.  I often dream of writing pieces that are so inspirational and so well constructed.  This is superb and ought to find printed pages very easily.  I am so awestruck I am nearly speechless (or numb in the fingers anyway).  Thank you so much for the gift in your exquisite words.  Another keeper.

Your poetic friend,

Kevin

Larry: Hey bud. I guess I am a morning person. I get up with the birds, but I can't sang, so I write. The birds are thankful..Thank you smilies.

Chris: Gave me chills too! Clear day, and thunder rolling all around me. And it wasn't Harleys. Many thanks sweet poetess.

Sunshine: Your library is my haven of learn. Thank you for believing in me sunnyone.

EA: So glad you enjoyed my spill. I'm glad you appreciate the "air of time" or weather..depending on how you wear it. Thanks for you.

wranx: Hey wranxy one! Much obliged for your visit. So great to see you as well.

jwesley: Big hugs for your gracious reply and for being here too.

Dixie: A bit rusty, but always encouraged and inspired thanks to you.

Nancy: Your replies are always laced with your signature grace.

C: You undress my verse and see the simple of it all. I'm so grateful for your thoughts.

iliana: Love your name...it's poetic phonetic, and delightful to pronounce. Thank you for knowing.

anawnda: I just realized that much of my ponder writing is suggestive of such reflections. Perhaps part of me is always open to such notions? Thank you for helping me learn something today and for your kind reply.

Mysteria: You always help my colors come alive..even when I feel like a stick figure in the sticks. Big thank you hugs.

Kevo: But you have the colors that don't run my poetic friend...a quality that I greatly appreciate and learn from. Your thoughts are so gracious and taken to heart. Many thanks dear poet.

LeeJ: What a lovely comment, but not suprising of you poetess. I'm just a gal with a pen stuck in the middle of my forehead, trying to convey the pain of it. It's a gift to read by you.

Love,
Reg

The whole poem is quite stirring, but I am especially struck by this passage.  Fills my heart with a longing to experience such a moment.  It has been a long time.
