Butterflies of Spirit

butterflies of spirit
mine own
seeking
their place
of weathering the
winter of me

flowed along instinct
knowing
pathways of air
trails of light
within

knowing
already where lay
the peaceful
grove

gathered
slowly
one by some
from those far
places of
my
summering

settled
like leaves
along the branches
of your soul

I like this very much.  What a beautiful concept, butterflies of spirit.

James,
I'd been wondering where you'd gone.  It's good to read you again.  Beautiful as usual.  Take care,

Butterfly spirits...

You should have seen
the yellow swallowtail butterflies
in the Rockies...
so abundant...
so beautiful!

Why...you must have sent them!

In Pismo Beach and also in Monterey, there are groves of trees where the Monarch butterflies gather to winter over, and to mate in early spring. It's simply incredible to look up at an 80-foot Eucalyptus whose branches are cloaked in brown leaves -- and suddenly realize that all those leaves are butterflies!

You have poetically expressed your "knowing" spirit...

This is incredibly lovely... as tender as the touch of a butterfly... or a spirit. *S* I didn't know it was possible to write peace... but you did. *S*

Lovely, the way your words flutter down the page,
and even more where they settled.

Real nice, James_A~
