Slipped beneath the undercurrent
thoughts overriding the unspoken,

the crest of the wave
the resonance in its foam,

hidden truths on sugarcoated lips,

the ugly afterbirth
that follows the storm,

pity the pious rose,

the white netted glove
closing upon its approach,

loves lamentations
before the bloom begins,

(must you go so soon?)

falling petals
that become paperweight tiarras,

he lays me in a field of lovemaking

in a marquis of moonlight,
he paints me in roses
to soften his curtain call.

Drama and passion.  I love your way with words.

Hey!  I would ask for an encore!   Very romantic read for sure, and loved the images.

A compelling read, Michele...
it reminded me of old lace,
and whispered hopes...
