This really happened a couple of night ago.

3 am late to bed
dead tired,
long story.
I knew I would sleep for once.
5 am to bathroom I am.
     “Are you okay?”
     I hear him opine.
     “Yeah, I’m fine
     but that dream
     of mine....
     Elvis was there."

Elvis was there
in dress uniform
opening a door
for some guest,
tourist or fare.
I think it was at
the Universal studios.
Tell me what it means.
There were others, too.
Ones I knew,
all from time past.
     "Yeah, I’m fine,
     wanted dreaming to last.
     But why did I
     dream about Elvis?"

I’m no fan
though I thought
him not bad
and was sad
when he went his way.
Have to say,
I don’t own
one record or song
with his name thereupon,
so why Elvis?

This is cute... I've had some pretty weird experiences with dreams, too (when I sleep that is!). It's weird sometimes how things like dreams can have such an impact on the wakeful hours of our lives.
Good to read you... now? Go get some sound sleep

Sometimes dreams convey messages to us and at other times they may just be fanciful nighttime imaginings. As time goes by, you may be able to discern which category your "dream" fell into. I've had more Elvis dreams than you could shake a guitar at! ~ and I never wanted them to end either! lol

This poem was a pleasure to read!

Well, why not?  But tell me,
is he the young or old version?
And what was playing on your radio last?

Hmmmm??

Enjoyed this, m'dear.

Dreams are but symbols of a situation. It stems from material you collect before the dream. It wasn't Elvis but a symbol of representation. Happy dreaming

Isn't it amazing the things we dream about. Once in awhile I think I should buy a dream book to see what they mean.
Interesting dream.

next time you see him, tell him to visit me.
Hugs~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.

Elvis, huh?  I think I'd be wondering too.  Enjoyed this.  Gave me a bright smile.

Cute, put a chuckle in my day
I wonder what Toerag would say?

I'm sure he'd have some wild reply
after all he's a sexy guy.

Huh, no I mean the guitar king
but then again "can Toerag sing'?
(I wonder?)

Enjoyed

GG -- Thanks for the "cute" -- I wanted to write something last night but the only thing that would come was this about Elvis in my dreams -- I guess my muse wanted that out, huh?   ......jo

Earth Angel -- your lily lady believes it was really him.  The odd thing was that I was a little surprised to see him and he conveyed something to me ... an essence that he enjoyed being of service or something like that, as he was opening the doors to some type of cab or vehicle and holding it open for people that were there.  The really odd thing about the dream was that there were people I knew that were either long since passed  and a few others which I have not heard any news of in years.  It also seemed important that it was the "Universal" studio, but I've never been there or had any interest in going.  Symbollic I think.  Yes, I think you may be right; I have had precognitive dreams before, but they have always been fairly simple like someone getting a job promotion or raise, or someone having a baby, or dying, but nothing quite like this.  Also, I'm surprised I even reached a dreaming state because I went to bed so late and was so very tired when I was awakened with this on my mind.  (PS, it was a very restless night -- the same night you wrote the poem about "Hell")  Thanks for your response, dear Earth Angel Linda.  It's nice to know you are here.   ..jo

Inkedgoddess -- yes, unexpected, and I really did not want to write it in this way, but my muse got the better of me.  lol

Sunshine, he was young but ageless, in military uniform, the uniform being much like you see on the old postage stamps that motorcycle courriers wore in WWI, I think; don't know how else to describe it.  (Thanks for posting.)  *hugs* and safe travels.

Seymour, thanks for the response.  I agree with you about that on most things, but I have had some that just don't seem to fit any category sometimes.  Sure is interesting stuff, though, no matter how you see it.  Thanks for the nice wish and for putting up with this weird writing.   ........jo

BonBon -- yes, interesting.  Hey, did you know there are a number of dream meanings on the internet.  Just search for "analyze dreams" or "meaning of dream" or variations of that and you'll find them.  Thanks for the post, dear lady!   ...jo

Hello iliana. I had to stop in a read something of yours. I must confess I like this poem. Why Elvis? Who knows! It is the Return of the King. LOL! Now doesn't that have a double meaning for J.R.R. Tolkien fans. In all serious though this poem is quite intriguing. Being one who rarely dreams I am always fascinated by what other people see in theirs. I will not even attempt to analyze the deeper meanings...after all I don't believe all things have deeper meanings. However I will stop to say that this poem is great. It has a very interesting storyline. It evokes the image of what you saw quite nicely...and darn it all...it is just cute. Wonderfully done my friend. Your buddy - Kevin.

iliana,
I enjoyed this.  Now it's got me wanting to write about some of my dreams.  I remember being kidnapped by gangsters, put in a vintage car, and pushed over a cliff.
Luckily, while in air, I freed myself from the car, continued to go down at an incredible speed and then, as if I hit a trampoline, i kept bouncing back up and down yelling, "Gee, Mom, I always wanted to learn how to fly!"  It was so really, but funny in the ending.
    Enjoyed.

well, what a wonderful dream....loved Elvis movies...he was certainly a charming man.  Can't analyze dreams, but why try...enjoy them...maybe it means nothing more then the thought of people you hadn't been in touch with for awhile, and Elvis simply opened the door to help you rekindle those friendships, even if in your dreams?

Smiles and hugs.
