a summer storm
blows the face off the ocean,

a sycamore of sparrows
takes its picture
in the waiting pond,

over the bridge of shadows
starlite fools the concrete
with a ring of diamonds,

maybe tomorrow the sun
will shine the morning
through the hollow of my eyes.

"maybe tomorrow

the morning through my eyes."

I'm sure it will, Inked one -- you could never stay in shadow too long.  Lovely writing, though.   ...jo

Much enjoyed.  I like your use of words.

hollow smiles,
with lonely eyes,
looking off in the distance,
thinking of fun times,
on hot sheets,
in the state of the garden

I found this like the child's game of crack the whip; the zinger is at the end. Well done!  KJ

Jo stole my favorite lines.

Wonderful writing as usual.
