What cast have these eyes made
From ankle deep in surging foam
When she on gritty sand laid
And caused my eyes to roam

My line was off in shallow sea
Surf fishing in the first of day,
Where I thought no one to see
Since morning had broke in gray

The surf was blurring sight
As low tide reversed it way
And finally was first beam of light
So I put my tackle away.

Sunlight was growing great
A couple became a crowd
And the morning already late
Disappearing as gray cloud

Slowly the roar of surf crashing
Gave way to cheers and laughter,
For me the stay was ending
For them it was my day after

Profesor Gloom,
The sadness in this remains after the reading.  You are true to your name.  The ocean is always changing.
Perhaps another day?

Hey Gloom!
Happy Birthday to both of us...
Cancerians are very deep you know...like the endless fathoms that you write.
I feel the sadness, and know the emotional tides well...yet in perspective does the sun forever shine. Hope it is always on you!

Thank you, miscellanea,
Each day is a new day,
Perhaps a better one?
The only way to find out is to live it.

Thank you, iliana,
You are kind with your praise.

Thank you, Sunshine,
Probably true, but each of looks at life with different eyes,

Thank you, Seymour,
For the well wishing,
Gloom like Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

Thank you, ThisDiamond,
And happy Birthday to you also,
May hope be on you, I’ll take this existence.

Thank you, iliana,
In fine voice today, appreciate the bump

I didn't find this one sad at all...

Just because he wanted solitude and left when it was broken by life?

I loved it and the fact that it takes place at my favorite location...
