Gentle the touch as waking winds
billow the curtain’s furling gate.
As spoken thoughts always ponder
in search of one’s own chosen fate.

A life did fill the emptiness
within the pit of my hunger.
Where smiles and hugs did take away
the fears of flashes and thunder.

A sentinel, a confidant
a fount of wisdom from within.
A place to share a thought or two
of then or now, this man of men.

I’ll keep a spirit at my side
when needed rest does take to dreams.
As waters fall into the pool
of crystal falls and cool clear streams.

I love you, O king of my heart
forever I shall kneel before.
As mountains rise before the sea
and waves caress the windward shore.

For several reasons...
this caused some salty,
but smiling tears.

I am finding that I haven't
lost sync with so many of
the poets here...

Well done, Magnus.

Barry, is this a photo of your father? You are as handsome as he was. You captured your father's "gentle touch" with that of your own...

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
