+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+ I had a restless night last night, For I tossed and twisted and turned. I could not drift into a peaceful sleep, As the mid-of-nite-oil burned. All the trials of my loved ones, And those of mine as well, Kept reeling through my mind, In a night of living hell. At 3 AM, my flashing clock, Caught my bleary eyes. I sat bolt up and saw a Light, Which glowed and grew in size. While bathed in glorious rays, A calm came over me. I knew my worrying was in vain, For what will be, will be. I closed my eyes and fell asleep, In to a sweet repose. I awoke this morn, with joy in my heart, For clutched in my hand, was a rose! +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+ |

Well written and shows the struggle. I don't know that I'd want to wake up with a rose in my hand though because in sleep everything of mine is clenched so I know I'd wake up with thorns gouging my skin. However it did add a fragrance to the poem. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

If it had been a thorny one, there would have been blood dripping from my hand and there would have been a frozen scream on my face!
