Words are Picks

My words are picks that dart the strings
That tricks the heart to thinking things
Rings the noon with mellow swoon
And jewels the yellow of the moon

They turn into the birds of cry
That flies the winds in mental sigh
To hue the sky in amber clouds
That falls beneath horizons shrouds

They play a song in longings key
The symmetry of key of be
Sending echoes into walls
Crying back in sigh recalls

They feed the fire to keep it bright
To stay the ashes lost to sight
To warm the heart this ebbing shoal
To hold the seed within its soul

I pick the words to fly like bird
In hopes they are forever heard

Seymour,
i'm always amazed at how tight your poems are. think that's a difficult feat to achieve for rhyming poetry?

Hello Seymour. It has been a long time my friend since last I visited your poetry. What an IDIOT I am. Heck this is wonderful. I love the way you meld rhyme and meter so much. You message is bright and cheerful and DANG I am jealous. I love this poem my friend. Love it with all that I have in my heart. You are such a wonderful writer my friend. You have a gift for turning a gray sky blue. (Note to self--When feeling down visit Seymour's poetry more often!) Thank-you my friend.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
