Photographs of broken dreams
faded and worn
framed in a square of sun,
reflecting.

A slide show
blips in the darkness
processing,
hot and cold tears.

Torn between failure
while holding onto the future,
pressed between
the lonely beat of my heart.

Passing through shadows
drawn,
to the negatives
in living color.

I like this.  I like the analogies.  Enjoyed.

Oh, Lori...and I thought --

....but I also think this poem is classic Bluesy, and as pretty a way to tell a painful truth as there ever was....

Lori,
You know I love your fighting spirit. And this is another excellent write. Peace...

Hey pretty lady,

Your spirit is just as lovely as ever, even when you write of negatives, you do so with eyes that see around the edges. Thanks for being here.

Always,
Reg

Aw, hon... I know this place... and you've picked the perfect metaphor... for such a life is as one-dimensional as a slide or photo... You deserve so much better... but lordy, you write it well! *S*

Blues Serenade,

Slides just never seem to be enough.  Where is the animation in the pictures?  This is so sad.  But, still lifes are what artist paint, as you have done wo well.
Have a good weekend, Blues Serenade.

These things that are so tough on us
Often come out as beautiful stories.
Yours did.
Well done.  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
