My rising flames burn cheerily that you might answer to their call,
for slanting rays of sunlight lengthen shadows as the evening falls.
the hiss and pop as sap expands resounds to chase the chill away,
a signal fire to welcome you back home, my friend, I bid you, stay.

Come rest awhile and shed your cares within the glow of firelight.
Find solace in my ebb and flow as crackling sounds a pure delight.
The rich aroma of my smoke, a complimentary atmosphere,
so leave your work-day thoughts behind, a million miles away from here.

A spark ignited fantasy, illuminated in my flames
invites you, join in reverie, that memories might be reclaimed.
What do you seek, my tired one, that's in my power to provide?
Rest easy in my comfort zone, the haven known as fireside.

Wherein the tired and the sore, the wearied and the troubled come
to find relief, surcease from stress, the banal and the bothersome.
For I will welcome you with warmth and light to keep the dark at bay,
come join me here at fireside, be welcome, I would bid you, stay.

For ages I have held the glow of memories which you provide,
reflect on them in comfort here, we welcome you to fireside.

Oh my, I could feel my body relaxing as I read your piece, and pictured myself sitting beside your fire..allowing the cares of the day to fade quietly away.
Very much enjoyed this excellent write.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

I found myself sitting beside the fire, the pleasure of its warmth and the trance of its waltzing flames soothing my tired soul.  What a beautiful piece.  I do so miss my evening fires.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
