i want to watch
the rain today
fall helplessly
from the sky,

drizzle down through
sunday's sleep
feel the cloud's
heart cry,

watch it by
the window seat,
the scene
as life pours by,

feel the sadness
which it speaks,
the reasons i know why.

You have given the rain life.  Lovely.

Not me!  We got 32 inches in April.  10" in 3 hours.  I have had enough of Thunderstorms, rain, tornado watches and warnings, hail, etc. to last me for the rest of the year.  The sky doesn't cry here.  It screams bloody murder!

Now that I've vented a little, I really enjoyed your poem and the way you gave life to our unpredictable sky.  I enjoy the rain too when it doesn't do it every day.  I'm not so tainted to not understand and appreciate your message and sentiments.  It was beautifully written and tender.

Good write, my friend - have never tired of rain - not even when it rains every day.  I may have wished it hadn't caused some of the problems it did when it becomes excessive, but I have never tired of rain...

Those times that thirst to pour, leave a peaceful emptiness in their stead...
The sun always waits its turn you know?

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Nothing like sitting in the screened in porch at night, dry and protected during one of our many crashing thunderstorms.  Beautiful descriptions and imagery and a nice picture too

Rain is the water of life, can't say I have viewed it from a sad point of view. Nice write.
