An Arnis Master

Like a blade
Forged of finest steel
Integrity worked into strength
Beautiful at rest
Deadly with intent

So you are to me--

As I watch you move
Working the blade
Smooth in flow of form
Swift in precision
An art come to life
A passion in play

And I inhale in awe
At your mastery

And when you come to rest
You smile,
And you are . . . you,
Simply like me
Yet everything I hope to become

Flowing in Arnis

S.A.T.

Dedicated to my instructor, Greg (the grasshopper) by his ever faithful student - the bunny.

Arnis is a Filipino Martial Art which uses weapons.  It is said that blade teaches stick teaches hand.  Thus the student begins by learning to work with steel.  To see this art performed by a master is to have ones breath stolen by the beauty of the motion and the mastery.

An amazing expression, this....quick and beautiful, like a martial art is. You truly caught the essence with this.

Yes,  I believe the art could steal away
one's breath,  as the master skillfully
cleaves the air with practiced strokes...

Would be fascinating to watch.

Thanx Susan.
