Dad’s Day

Those who have their Dads with them
At least, somewhere on this Earth
Are the lucky ones who know them
The Men who caused their Birth.

There are so many millions
Of orphans everywhere
Who have neither, Mom or Dad
Or anyone else to care.

So many in this world today
Don’t even know Dad’s name
And many more through the years
Lost them in War’s deadly game.

Some relations are difficult
And there may be harsh words, spoken
But, even when we are estranged
The bloodlines can’t be broken.

So, on this Day to Honor them
You must tell them, if you can
"I love you Dad, and I’m glad
You’re part of my life’s plan".

When you pass up, that moment
To tell Him how you feel
You’ll find there’s no more chances
That your life’s time, will steal.

Very very true Del...Excellent write.
And, may all the dad's in PiP have a wonderful Father's Day.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Yes, Del, you're so right. Tell your Dad, tell your Mother....tell your mate and your friends...life is way too short. hugs, Chris

Thank you for this reminder...
it's so easy to take things for granted sometimes.
What a compassionate write...

My Sis and I lost our parents long ago, but he comes to her in writing, and Mom to me in my music. Wonderful, Abe
