between the cold
of blade and stone

will you come to it then?

the realization that you
were nothing more than lambs
bred for slaughter

I shall not acquiesce, nor will I be led to the stone.  I too can carry a blade, and am forged of such measure as the steel I carry.

Interesting and thought provoking write.

"...will you come to it then?"

You ask a lot; this would involve massed wakefulness!

*wink*

Excellent, Sir!

Excellent, thought-provoking write.  Your insight, and perspective are refreshing.  By the way, I noticed under your user name it says, "Coconuts?  In England?"  I am guessing that this comes from one of my favorite comedies as a teenager - Monty Python's Holy Grail (What a great classic)?  Am I right?  "It was a swallow.  A swallow?  Yes, an African swallow.  Did I hit the nail on the head?  That is a great movie.  "That's the King.  How do you know it's the King?  Because, he's got [edit] all over him.  LOL  Thanks for sharing the write.  Remember to let me know if I'm right about your quote.

You say yourself, right here above my comment box, "Honesty, however brutal".

It is your writing that sometimes portrays this more than my comments ever could.

It's almost kind of scary, but I like that.

Friggin cool pic Riff Raph...you had to have known that I'd comment on that...Mr. Exotic heh

And damn your poetry always blows me away.  Maybe one day the karma gods will make my butt look smaller and then let me write like you when I grow up

Gripping words. Two things came to mind, and my mind is a bit twisted, but "Silence of the Lambs" along with some engraving of the last supper. Made me feel protective of all that I love...and what of the wolves in sheep's clothing? Nice to read you Aenimal.

Sincerely,
Reg
