Somehow I just feel them.
Those dark days of need.
Those days when she gifts away
The very thing she herself needs most.

I sit, in shadows and watch,
Following her footsteps
As if some small child full of
Anticipation, giddy with glee,
Scuffling along in her sand
Of wisdom and words.

She flits from light to light,
Leaving her dusty trail for all to see.
Some will laugh, cry or simply sigh.
Each thought is sprinkled with
colored tiny bits of love
Tasting oh so sweet.

Not a day goes by, not one,
I’m not washed clean in her wake.
Either in wisps of words only
A poet can leave
Stirring whispers in a heart,
Or heard from the lips of someone
Who's load was heavy,
Where she stopped to leave
Her tear drops of mend.

She can send waves of total acceptance
Love, and charity over a wanton soul
Gifting them the very strength
To get through another day,
that she herself needs.

She doesn’t even seem to know
All the answers reside within her.
Craving want, and pain have taught her well.
Yet ~ she still seems to have more love
Than one person really needs, so,
She gives away the surplus
Because it just feels good today.
Today.

Giving away the thing you need most is truly a gift worth giving

I had something to say about someone so special here in the halls of Passions, and this was the only way I knew how to present to them.I hope you will enjoy it, and if it fits you too, then you go right ahead and claim it,
she won't mind I am sure of it

This poem has brought several Pipsters to my mind. I hope they read this poem and can see themselves in your loving and appreciative words.

I feel as you do but could never have expressed it as eloquently as you have. I was in near tears with the beauty of your poem. I see your own Light shining through this

Love & Light,
Linda

I believe I know who this is for but you do have a way, Mysteria, that you make this comfy blanket of words spread wide, to encompass all poets [yes, even the men...]

Thank you for your many gifts.

I know someone like this. If she wrote poetry hers would be the same as you describe here. She lives far away but she is near me anyway. I think you must be like her too.

Sharon

This does sound like you, as well as a few others.  A lovey poem and thoughts about someone special.

You are all so very kind, and yes, I am sure we all know someone like this.  I do have to say this particular tribute is a birthday present for one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I mean ever!

She ALWAYS has time for you no matter how full her plate is, and I think she will always be that way.  You know they type, they will give you the last piece of bread in the basket type, or the last green jelly bean type?
I think they are placed here to learn from I suppose?

So...if there are any moths by this name in the house ready to step up and take this tiara, c'mon down!

Sharon, Sharon, Sharon, ...
what am I gonna do with you

Well, first of all I must say thank you...
this is such a lovely, sweet, gift.
You always say you dont think your poetry is "as good" as other poets...but me thinks you just cant sit that close to your own words...this is so sincere and emotive...how can one not be touched by your words.
And? me thinks you give mothyme far too much credit...this poem could so easily be a mirror of you...Mother-kindess of the forums,
and so many others of us who have connected thru our words and mutual love of poetry.

When you wrote me that email...your words struck me so....its so perfect that a poem should come from your insight and enlightenment.

Thank you, so much for this gift of verse Sharon. I am humbled and moved by all the kindess and outpouring for my bday from you all.

And..me thinks Im gonna make quite a scene riding my new bike with that Tiara on..

TY

Sharon, you've captured the essence of giving ... this is a beautiful tribute to Janet Marie, and many others who give so generously of their hearts here as well.

As JM says, this piece could be "a mirror of you" as well, my friend. The lady knows whereof she speaks.

Happy Birthday JM!

Best wishes and hugs to you both,
/Kit

What a beautiful tribute you've written... this gem sparkles (and is deserved *S*) as much as any tiara could. *S*

And, a most beautiful and deserving person she is.
Wonderfully said...a keepers..this tribute and JM.

This mirrors so many poets at Passions, but indeed for our JM is just perfect.  A kind hand and heart she always has given.  So to her my thanks for her kindness and Sharon?
By the way hon, take a long look in the mirror, because I see you in that reflection too.  Many times over.
Hugs!

I see a lot of you in that mirror too, and like I said, knowing Janet Marie, she would gladly share this with you, and I am glad she did.  Have a lovely day you all, or ya'll (depending on the border you are behind.)
