Served in a moment that pours desire from its pitcher
Soaks the desert floor and rises steam into the skies
And all is not what it may seem
When looking through love’s hallowed eyes

A carnival takes pass the rhetoric of looking glass
Attempts to stamp my heart a surface etch
Disinterest fanes its yawn and stretch
Yet sovereign court is held away from follies fetch

The precious art I seek leaves imperfect all so meek
For fairy tales might disappoint the truth
It is a man of honor that will bear the living proof
These never mind affairs leave off in wave aloof

And I belong to no one…most honored to myself
The quality of life I choose, and what comprises wealth
And often I have walked alone in echo of a mindless drone
But quality is what I hone and hold in quiet…quiet

Respect is earned, and love predestined

Permissible enchantment, this dreams convergent song
Mistakes are part of living and change will keep us strong
My arms are always open, my heart unveiled and clear
That every moment spent should be a moment we revere

Take the tempo from my footsteps entered into sameness beats
Truly all that was such pleasure losing only harms deletes
Taste the flavor of a passion that builds friendship broad and wide
There I trace of every whisper in your palm my greatest pride

And strength…un-telling in a superficial way
The storms that can’t be weathered, or seas be turned away
But here I stand a holy dream that wraps you in good grace
To tell the truth of what I feel, along your lips to place

"Respect is earned, and love predestined"

Words, I believe, to be so true.  TD, I really liked the stanza leading up to this
about the quality of life you choose.  You are a wonderdully strong and wise lady -- with a beautiful soul!   ....jo

Says a lot of the author...at least I do
believe so...

Nicely done K.
