Colored with his Love

Sometimes the sun
pulls some kind of magic from the sky
and I can feel it nudge my skin
in a reverent way,
as if someone conspired
to let me see more clearly
how the water emits radiance
and sounds are sharply cut
from a song of continuance.

Today I saw this magic
in something far more finite,
something as fragile as a flower
and as strong as a caress,
I saw it in hands, dear hands,
beloved and torn on one delicate thumb,
hands that had traced the years
around the heart of my nurturing
and had felt the callus of life
tear into my skin with time.

Hands that desire the earth
and touch it like a woman,
hands that are strong enough
to crush the bones of rocks,
hands that hear beauty knock
and build it in the doorway
while I wait with who’s there
not yet spoken.

I could see so clearly
how for-granted colored the knuckles
and I felt great tenderness for nail ridge’s curl
and the slightly pink flesh
that fell into the heartland
of his palm.

I hold them now
cupped giants between my own
opened  I kiss the inside of my heart
for as I look with this clarity
I see it there as sure as a blink
and it is colored with his love.

This poem would touch my heart at any time, for it's so filled with love... Under these circumstances, my heart first weeps... then kneels and prays.

I am simply smiling from all that love I just read and see his hands so well Martie.  I also can darn near hear you with a wiggle of giggle behind that door.

Happy 24th Anniversary, and here is to many, many more happy years together.  Have a wonderful weekend you two, and don't you dare behave

Thank you so much, my friends.  Sharon, we were going to go away for our anniversary which is on the 14th, but we changed our minds and are gonna just hang out at home.  So don't be surprised if you see me around.

I felt poetic tingles run up my arms and across my shoulders....
me thinks you already know...
the answers are there in your own words.

You know my thoughts will be with you, and with Taylor....as they have been since you first told me of this. We can't know how the world will turn for us, but if there's any fairness to be found, this will pass.

Martie, I have had you and Taylor in my thoughts and prayers
already and you both will continue to stay there.
The kind of love you portray in this wonderful
poem will help you both to be strong in this trying time.
May God bless you both,
Ethel

Dear Martie, This is such a beautiful poem full of love, warmth, and tenderness, but I am so sorry to read of your husband's ill health.  My thoughts and prayers are with you from the other side of the world.  Expressed love has a way of flying into so many hearts and making them flutter and so too another's pain makes a heart cry.

You already know you are both in my prayers...and you know, Sis...I can think of no better way to share your love, by asking for a circling...than to repost a poem dedicated to such a fine man.

Taylor?  You are indeed, blessed.

Nothing is quite as simple and beautiful as when it flows right from the heart.  My thoughts go with you both as well.  KJ
