From words to weave a chrysalis, thus meaning to surround
within a silken sheath as this, an image one has found,
that's not as yet completely formed, unready for the page,
in need of haven safe and warm, at such an early stage.

Within said shelter, stirrings, indicate another phase,
a transformation that occurs as consciousness arrays
the energy and substance from the well of life 'til dreams,
seek to escape their confines, with a bursting of the seams,

to alight with faltered footsteps in an unfamiliar place,
having undergone a process that's as old as time and space,
shed of molt, on wings to flutter 'crost the page as if were sky,
much as what's called "metamorphosis" produces butterflies.

What a lovely, lovely poem. It exudes joy and fills the heart and spirit.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Doc

Wonderful!!  This has to be one of my favorites of yours.  I've always thought of writing a poem, as giving birth.

Dr Moose, yep.  Sometimes they come out butterflies. This one did, for sure.

Doc,
Ya' know I couldn't help but think of our Chipmunk passed. She would have loved this analogy. Very well done.
