standing on a shadow's lace

Gathering Place

I have pleaded with life
and begged for different
from this silken fabric ripped
there is a delicate balance
and it has all come undone
a string has slipped the weave
too much space between the loops
yet, this prayer is not an impulse
but more the strength of motivation
can one thread spin without web
no, it lacks the design of pattern
will tomorrow be the needle in gather
to once again be touched in lace

"be prepared to bleed"  Joni Mitchell

Keep weaving with the delicate needles of your heart and the pattern will yet be one of beauty and perfection...wonderful and powerful writing...

though the title first grabbed my attention (and it turned out to be something entirely different than I expected) I was not disappointed.  I especially find these lines enjoyable:

"yet, this prayer is not an impulse
but more the strength of motivation"

it seems we are stronger through resolve than through reaction...

You would have no way of knowing (or would you?) just how this one reaches out and captures me in the word-weave~

"too much space between the loops"

and sometimes the loops need to be rewoven

as always, a moving piece, Helen

your words are gathering thoughts...for me, the following was truly inspiring

yet, this prayer is not an impulse
but more the strength of motivation

yes indeed, an intense work in progress to gain finally this kind of peace.
