The Power Of A Rose

This morning,
Through my window
Flickered flame, dancing to and fro.
It framed my garden flowers,
As I wondered,
How does your garden grow?

Are you standing in a sunrise?
Walking in morning’s dew?
Your heart so very tender,
Open petals.
Dusted lightly
In worry’s fragrant hues.

I take strength from my garden
With each and every
Flower that I hold;
Somehow their beauty
Always gets me through
Whatever news I’m told.

So when my day is finished,
The night sky
Suddenly all ablaze,
I go to my simple garden,
Inhale a rose
In all it’s beauty,
And dream of better days.

An inner garden
of peace and tranquility
is what you share, here...

and your poetry grows mighty fine, as well...

Thank you Sunshine, so happy you liked it.  See, it takes a rose to know one?

This is a poem about drawing on the strength of the "roses" here in the Passion's garden, to see you through rough spells.  It is written for someone who needs roses right now, and being one, (with a tiara yet!) I felt I would send her a big hug and a prayer. She will know who she is.

Sometimes when life hands us something we don't think we can bear, we can find love and strength in the things that give us pleasure. The scent of a rose, the whisper of a breeze through the trees, daisies dancing in the garden and the quiet touch of a friend.

I identified so much with this, Mysteria.  I've a rose garden, albeit small, and I have even gotten my son in the habit of smelling them when he gets out of the car and walks by them.  There is just something about a rose.........hugs, jo

sweetly written, and much needed on this rainy day
to think of a garden that way, hundreds of little buds of inspiration just waiting to burst open their blooms

Beautiful sentiments Sharon. It's amazing how just one single rose elicits the power you describe.

Here’s wishing you and your friend dozens of bouquets to draw strength from.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

and it is true...one rose alone can do it for me ( although I can't recall the last time)

b/c of you, I will never again look at a rose the same way, hence, with much more gapping and wonder, knowing I am blessed, thanks a bunch.

Tremendous lines...very very lovely!

For sure life is the most important of all art forms really. Those strange feelings we have of love, compassion, taste, smell, fear, and even hate, as well as the interaction with others give us a real feeling of being and living.

So, at this time when love and good will were needed, I thank you for someone who was surely encouraged a bit more by your thoughtful words.

My own personal wish is that she has the courage to look at herself, and learn more about that fear, which really is only love wearing a different hat.

Wishing each of you a successful journey of peace, which only can be found within your own heart and soul.  Thank you for reading.

A rose is an expression of the strongest and most beautiful thing there is, love. This poem is well bestowed.

Thank you for the writing, and for sharing it with us all.

This is so beautiful. I also seek solace in my garden to pull the strength I need from it when my days grow long and dark and I need some comfort. So very sweet, I enjoyed it emminsely.

Life is sure not fair sometimes but I guess we have to take what we are dealt and make the best of what there is there to work with.  Sometimes we can make something from it as beautiful as a simple rose.

I send a rose of freindship t a very special friend who I hope will know I am here
