A bit of fantasy....

Sea-Nymph

I reclined on a sunswept shore,
My mind stilled and serene;
When creature of an ancient lore
Emerged as ocean Queen.

Her lithe form and flowing hair
Perfection did decree;
The Beauty seized my spellbound stare
And set my fancy free.

On Her head a wreath of rainbow dew
Shimmered in the Sun;
Her eyes reflected ocean blue,
Enchanting magic spun.

With steps as light as swallow's flight
She taunted playful waves;
My breath ensnared in Her delight
— No longer air it craves.

She stopped and mused, for just a while
In sunlight's gold embrace;
Then pressed close, as alluring smile
Adorned Her glowing face.

But not a single word She spoke
— And mine would surely miss —
When on Her silent lips there broke
An imprint of a kiss...

Oh, still my heart! Arrest the beat!
Submit to magic spell —
And let Her casting Love replete
My yearning, empty shell ----

I woke alone; the windswept shore
Still barren in the Sun --
And my dream Calypso — no more
Her magic will be spun...

Thus weary of the fancied rush
I turned to start anew —
There glistening on a seashore brush
— A wreath of rainbow dew.

Pulling this up from the sands of time in the archives (even if it's not in the current Open Poetry #50 forum).

I found this an extremely delightful read. I enjoy anything associated with water, mythology, and fantasy. I have even composed poetry based on Greek mythology, which unfortunately were lost on my parents' old computer from which I never got to salvage the files. But all the above that I have in common with this topic made this even more enjoyable to read.

Your poem makes it easy to feel as if one were actually there face to face with Calypso on that magical, sunny day in the ocean. Thanks for sharing.
