Listening to every heart

Searching the Plains for the Plane…..

In the shadow of purple summer's night
I sense your touch, feel breath light,
thus comes to me calming memory,
a love I hold so dear, closely…

it was a night, such as this
when I held fast to your last kiss
stroked your brow, held your hand
and felt my heart in pain expand…

this space so void, this chasm so black
only in memory do I have you back,
two crystal goblets of wine I pour,
to drink to your memory ever more…

and as I taste this wine, bitter sweet,
night's summer warmness is replete
gently into its blackness I fall
as I search for you in crimson pall

for although your body is not near mine
I feel you there … through space and time,
there, on a plane, an unknown mystery
where your love I long to hold to me…

this life's long pursuit to not be denied
to re-kindle love, again be entwined
I will search, though tears make eyes blind
there, on a plane, transparent as time

~*~

This is such a heart-aching write.
Full of hope and strength, but also sorrow and loneliness.
Beautiful, nonetheless.. in fact, more so.

Beautifully loving and powerfully painful.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

What a beautiful way to say.....
....this poet just ran out of words...but you know the rest of what I'd say, so beautiful, it is.

Sunshine,
Gorgeous with sadness.  So it seems that the best laid plans never land.  I suppose that's what keeps us reaching upward!
Well, this sent me mood.  Time to: from computer excape... You're wicked.   You know that, don't you?

(BTW, I took your challenge again.  Enjoy the Brew... there is more behind it than might meet the eye.)  Thank you for all you've done for me.

Your composition and phrasing are awesome.  This brings me to those I've lost through death, both family and friend.  Thank you.  KJ

Brings vivid and stirring memories to my mind of my very first love. Oh, how I adored him. My family moved far away and it near broke my heart. I wonder what he has done with his life and if he is happy.

Your poems often have a way of bringing up nostalgic thoughts in me! ~ and I like that. I am hopelessly sentimental!

To sweet memories to be enjoyed over and over again!

Quite mystical and magical, Karilea! And a tiny bit sad, too.

"...there, on a plane, transparent as time."

Kept passing this by thinking I'd read it - glad I finally stopped to check. Loved the "loneliness" (not the word I want but it slips the mind at the moment...) winding through here... really enjoyed - and love the last line....worlds in it.
