Questioning Red Riding Hood

You’re all alone, Miss Riding Hood;
you know that isn’t grandma, but you stay.

Why is that, Red?

Is there something that you’re after?
It’s dull being a nice girl all the time, isn’t it…
never talking to strangers, running mama’s errands...
you want a change, don’t you Red, a little excitement?

Did you stop to wonder who the wolf really is?
And how can it be that he already knew
the back way to Grandma’s house?
How did he get in, did she let him?
Grandma’s gone. He’s gotten rid of her,
nobody here but you and the wolf,
waiting in Grandma’s bed.

So it’s up to you, and what will you do?

Are you hoping the woodsman will come,
or that he won’t? Do you know he won’t?
What’s your real wish, Red?
He doesn’t act like he’s had a big meal,
no not at all – did he really eat her?
That’s a word with several meanings, you know...
or is she just conveniently absent, we wonder...?

Is she helping him, helping you?

Maybe she’s upstairs, waiting right now,
or entertaining the woodsman herself?
Did you know that already?
The woodsman comes in without knocking;
what is it, anyway, between him and Grandma?
Or the wolf and Grandma, now that we think of it.
Have you pondered that?
Wolves don’t talk, but he talks – what’s waiting
for you inside that wolf’s clothing?

A pertinent question too, Miss Hood:
about that basket of yours, your little treats--
what little treats does he really want?
do you really think a carnivore
would be so crazy for cake and wine?
He’s opening the bottle now, and --how interesting--
...suddenly he has hands to hold it... two glasses...
and what will you do?
You’re close to him and close to the door...

...which will you choose?

What I would do?...hmmmm....well underneath that red, hooded cloak...I would be wearing my catsuit..(catwoman)..or my Laura Croft tomb Raider suit....first i would knock him out...handcuff him and tie him up.... rescue grandma, take the cake and wine....call the FBI or Batman..LOL and have all the goodies to myself, maybe for a party at Hanzel and Gretals house....but maybe I could get the three little pigs to come and do their boiling pot routine, then the gingerbread man could come out and run again, running as fast as he can...I think Goldielocks is more his type (She likes sleeping in different beds)...LOL!

Ps...I know he smokes, because he couldn't blow the three pigs' house down..all that huffing and puffing...smoking is a major turn off for me... and the basket of goodies, would be my weapons...LOL

~This was fun....Made me laugh!

Ed, what a twist on this story.  You are more than likely correct in your interpretation -- so cleverly penned!
