The faith of a stone...

To taste a moment in the briefness of
its expression.

On a tongue that whispers in the
language of forever.

Yet the stone remains still.

As moments fall in timeless
rapture.

There are many beliefs that attribute souls to what others consider inanimate natural articles such as stones.  Definite food for thought, the faith of a Stone.  I really, really like this.

Being a rock collector from way back, I just loved these words.

Eric

The cold rock is waiting
calling for circumference.
This reign will give to glistening basalt
the depth of dreams
and the lines of time in trenches
where centuries are marked,
striations of groaning war,
passion and lusting for knowledge,
will listen.

your beautiful words brought me back to something I wrote a while ago.  I hope you don't mind me sharing part of it here.

As moments fall in timeless
rapture.

I am like the stone
I hold my breath
to taste
the sweet gift
of stillness
....
that is You.

I love you.
