In dire need of meditation:
Medication inches from the shelf,
A pillbox with label
Falls into my lap,
And invisible breezes
Rustle through bonded leafs;
Stopping on the perfect page.
*
Dead poets souls,
Heralds of Whitman and Blake
Send prescription
From a boundless place,
And I finger trace the ghosts
Of ancient herbs
The source, to them, had gave;
My mind-glass fills then to brim,
With the wine of vintage worlds.
*
To pet and sooth, their lines begin
The cat inside me purrs,
And warming beams of sunlight burn
Through anger fogs of hate.
*
The scrambled runes come clear,
And through the power of their source
Start  flowers to rebloom
That have withered in my heart
And for a while, I'm healed.

Excellent write sir.

To be healed sounds awfully nice,
even for just awhile.
I think I could go for that medication.
I sure know none I've tried have worked quite like that!

I'll take a few doses of that prescription myself, if you don't mind!  Great write!   ....jo

Thank you all for you replies...I use poetry as a therapeutic drug...Classic or modern, doesn't matter...It's always there, right on my shelf or in here....
I have been "healed" any times by just visiting this forum...

(smiles) Awwwwwww, I know just how you feel, I too believe poetry is ambrosia and if we dip it into our cup of tea each day and stir, that is enjoying the true sweetness of life, by tasting the nectarine beauty of the written word and music! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
