words were enough
to bridge the distance then

speaking in certainties
that were only ever
                                 dreams

still,
i miss mckuen
wrapped within your voice

the whisper of dreams
over the choke of realities

we will never share
that black sand embrace
beneath the lion's gaze

and i will never know
the joy of waking on my left
to the light of aotearoa's sun
                                   and your smile

and i find once more
                               that I am drifting

Are we etched in stone or scratched in the sand waiting for the waves to come and reclaim the land? ~ The Stone Roses

Lovely writing.  I have to agree with Midnitesun's logic, though -- that's the real lotus.

Whew..this one almost made the ice queen cry...because it is that sad and wonderful at the same time.

Raph

Open hearted...without the edge that hides the ache sometimes.  Well done and needs a hug.  *hug*

Aches with longing, Aenimal. You continue to grow as a poet.
