words were enough to bridge the distance then speaking in certainties that were only ever dreams still, i miss mckuen wrapped within your voice the whisper of dreams over the choke of realities we will never share that black sand embrace beneath the lion's gaze and i will never know the joy of waking on my left to the light of aotearoa's sun and your smile and i find once more that I am drifting Are we etched in stone or scratched in the sand waiting for the waves to come and reclaim the land? ~ The Stone Roses |
