Marching, marching, marching,
two feet pound out the time
on the spot and in a groove
while streaks of white in heaven’s blue
wait impatiently
for a skip, a hop, a jump,
a dance, a song, and love.

Did they look down and miss my sigh,
my wish for wings to fly
and the song I’m singing silently
each time I dream and see
the hidden depths of you and me
beyond horizons far?

Today, these days, there are no clouds
in the highway of the sky
to shade the road and make me know
I will have wings and I will sing
and skip and hop through life.

When brain waves turn to neutral,
the groove becomes my friend
and I watch the clouds pass on by
like false and empty empathy
distant and aloof, uncaring, unaware.

But the sky draws me up and out
to where all things can manifest
and the marching ceases, slows, and stops,
to leave me free at ease
in the age old belief
of a final resting place.

Till then I walk in circles round
and wait for neutral’s pain
to force my commitment
either forward, back, or down
but the groove; how it grows,
how it stretches, moulds itself,
around a wish, a hope, a dream,
like a wall without a gate.

And in the groove we all must wait
till inward turns our sight
and the reality of clouds and grooves
becomes of little worth
for down below or on the top
earth’s still a stepping stone!

groovy...i enjoyed this timely reminder.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

Thanks bbent!

And sometimes the groove is too groovy to leave and we merely bow down to the known unknowing, of course, of what's meant to be should we one day grow wings and painstakingly learn how to sing.
