Dread

I spend my time hiding from
the fear of what you might say
The dread of confrontation
keeps me locked away to
stare at the same four walls
for hours on end with nothing
but my thoughts and an old tv
to occupy the slow moving time

I want to take a stand... one day
tell you what I really think of your
rude ways and negative attitude
but I dont know if that day will come

I mostly just want to leave
get away from where ever you are
instead of having to hide who I am
and offer phony smiles while I
countdown the hours until you leave

Thank you both for stopping in

I know passing, it has been about a year and half now. My Dave is more than worth it though.  I know we won't be here forever so it's just a matter of making it through this part of life to move on to the next
Sometimes it just catches up with you.

your write was very emotive...however (and please forgive me for pontificating)...no man is 'worth' it if it means demeaning your essence or belittling your presence...passing shadows was right on target...something will have to give...oh well, forgive me if I have overstepped any bounds...

You will find other outlets some day...it begins with expressing your thoughts as you do.

Thank you both for reading and replying.

steavenr - There is nothing to forgive It is not Dave who treats me this way.  This is about my father-in-law who has sooo many issues stemming from mental problems he has had his whole life.  It is REALLY unpleasent.  He would love nothing more than to see me throw up my hands, break down and leave.  I'm not gonna give him that satisfaction though. I moved down here because I love my Dave. His dad is stuck with me being part of the family if he likes or not hehehe.

Tara~

Loved the writing (I use to find it very difficult as well..now they just can't shut me up) and I loved it more when I saw your explaination.

I hope you find a solution.

I can relate to this excellently written poem.  Sometimes you just have to force the issue, face the consequences, and forge ahead.  Our natures dictate to “run” or “fight.”  But sometimes we need to do both.  Time is against this situation.
Sad!  So sad.  So well written and expressed.

Thank you James
You are right. Dave has tried but it gets us no where.  I'm actually putting a huge vent up in feelings.. where more of the details will be.. if you want to take a look when its up there.  I'm not gonna type 2 pages here when it will be in there soon lol.
Thanks again!
