What words might set the proper tone to so inspire a song,
within a key to strike a chord with no doubt it belongs,
convey a thought to harmonize, enrich some passage found,
and, fit in place so perfectly, a ballad starts to sound?

To pluck from strings which lie at hand, those notes the mind would hear.
What words can possibly sustain that pitch that sounds so clear,
attenuate by being struck at random, yet in tune,
that if were found showed promise, even in the face of ruin?

What words might hold that resonance that every writer seeks,
encompass an array of tones, the valleys and the peaks,
release from where lay locked away the music of the muse
who often forsakes ballads in her preference for the blues?

passing shawdows,
Thanks, a little melancholy from the ol' keyboard.
Doc
Susan,
Thank you, I'm glad you liked.
Doc

Martie,
Thanks so much, that's what I was striving for. I often hear music in what others write,
thought maybe I too could "name that tune".

iliana,
Thanks. Always searching for something that will strike a chord with someone.
Doc
ThisDiamond,
Thank you. Not being able to play an instrument worth a darn, I find myself relegated to this, but, maybe that's not all bad.
