a subtle shift
wavers the illusion

collapsing ribcages
in the harrowed gravity
of apprehension
over emotion

i've seen the beacons burn

awed that anything
as bright or beautiful
should ever fail

but then, we did
                           didn't we.

It is amazing...and sometimes so disappointing..and other times such a relief...
