Retirement time?

I wake up in the morning quite at sea
And wonder what is going on with me?
I've toiled all my life to earn my due.
But years have passed too quickly now I rue.
I watched my kids grow in their lives and leave.
To say I do not miss them would deceive.
Careers I've had. In praise of them I've sung.
The work's now done by others that are young.

The news is talk of war and outer space.
My quest for usefulness goes on apace.
It's greal to fill my time with hobbies tho'.
And family still needs my touch and so
I ponder while I search the books I've read.
I know my answer lies within my head.

Hi Ken!!  So great to see you here today!
I get so excited just seeing your name I start to bounce.
I'm sure you can find plenty to do with your retired time.
How about starting with writing and posting more?
It is surprising just how much  you will find to fill your days...
and there are always the grandkids!
Good write...plenty to ponder here.

Nice to read...retirement is something to look forward to...I always say that everyone will leave the job one way or another...either retire or be carried out....The secret is to know when to retire and still have time to enjoy the luxury...James

I retired a few years ago to write...and so, I'm not retired, I'm a writer!

Thanks to each of you.  I've almost too many hobbies so time isn't a factor, it is how to get it in, and now I wonder how I ever found time to work.  Ken

I think you should only be retired when you're tired

Good morning, Ken! With all that you have on your plate in retirement, you will never be one to vegetate! You've got a whole lot of livin' & doin' to do! No lying down in  pastures for you! Enjoy! Live! Learn! Grow! Do! ~ and be HAPPY!

Good to read you again!
