~*~

It seems like only yesterday
when I felt your flutter in the wind, gently stirring.
A strain of pain that was here to stay,
regretting all that we might have done differently.

The thought of you jogs my memory
from beginning to end,
as those sun soaked days flash before me,
spent on an island in paradise that became my life line.

Hand in hand we made our way along the white sand
taking our time as we dug our feet in
romancing each others sweetest heart,
turning hours into endless days.

You caught my breath and took it away,
drawing me in, forever in blue,
and it saddens me to look back on those summer mornings
that you've sewn into the heart of my ache.

We were gathered so beautifully, like a floral lei
filling the air with the heady scent of plumeria
strung together in the sunrise of love
until we threw it all in, to drift out to sea.

And the promise of our day in the sun.

Lori,
===============================
romancing each others sweetest heart,
turning hours into endless days.
==============================
And days into years. Memories pleasing to the mind yet so painful to recall. More of life's paradoxes. And to think they are a part of who we have become. Seems the outcome likely made a better you. Least wise, I like ya'!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I like you too Larry, you know I do,  thank you so much.  These days are like nothing I've ever come up against,  so I'm writing then out in order to see them more clearly for what they are, and what will be.

big hugs, deary~

The "thing" about our memories...eventually it is the good that is recalled...the times that led us through life when we didn't have the time to realize that one day we may need to recall them to survive.

You are  stronger than you know...and will make it through this

hugs and love

Oh, Lori, this hurts. It really touched my heart.
I hope that things will work out. I'll bet he's
having aches of the heart, too.
Hugs,
Ethel

I love this, the idea of two souls being gathered like beautiful flowers. Lori, I've never seen it written in quite that way before. I love that idea. into my library.

Brilliant to read you Bluesy.

and smile at you a little longer, Thank you Mr. Ratleader~

Larry~ Time is getting away from me these days and disturbing my thought process,
but I'll get back to you, probably later than sooner, but I will, promise!!

Right back at you, Dixie~

Maureen~ Come hell or high water, I will douse the flames and keep on swimming.
Thank you for your shoulder, and sharing your friendship wih me.  hugs~

Hi Ethel~ It only hurts when I give into the ache, the truth is,
It's more about hard feelings I don't want to leave.
Thank you always, sweetie~

Amy~  My hearts an open book...ugh!!!
I appreciate your support and encouraging words so much, thank you.

Kaoru~ Reality is pretty powerful stuff, huh?
So happy to see you here, thanks.

Janet Marie~ You're about as sweet as they come,
and it means so very much to me!  Thank you dear lady!

gemma, gemma~  Ah well, I was going way back to the beginning with that verse.
Thank you.

iliana~  I tell ya, those blue shades are ever changing,
but somehow I can still find a bit of inspiration
in spite of the cloud cover.       Thanks.
