You promised me forever, Sealed with our vows and a ring, Love was happy, meant everything, You promised you would never hurt me, then you deceived and lied, tears wouldn't stop flowing as I cried, You promised to love and cherrish me, death do us part, death has come and broke my heart, You promised to respect me, love me instead of lust me, you created a false identity, You promised to be faithful, I was to be your one and only, But you broke your testimony, You promised sympathy, But only caused me pain, All for self, your self gain, You promised to protect me, Keep away from danger, You became the danger, the stranger, You promised to love me, What is love to you? Nothing I feel is true, You promised, And all these promises were broken, Empty words you have spoken, I promised too, I kept my promises to you, Now I can't love because of you, I am to forgive you say, It was a mistake! Was our love real or fake? I am left without a clue, Deciding what I should do, Left with these broken promises from you... Open your eyes, open your mind, open your heart, let me come in and show you love.....~ARH |

this was and is a hard thing to do. Once trust is broken, no matter how strong the love, now, it's been contaminated. Forgiveness is not a question....we must forgive and will in time, but to trust that person again, takes a lot of courage and a very unique person...one must ask oneself...shall I place my heart on a line for him/her, to possibly hurt again. I wouldn't do it again, without very seriously counseling...together, but that's me |

ARH, this really hurts. I know how it feels, too, to lose trust in someone you love..... But I do believe that one day you will meet just the right person and he will love you exactly the way you should be loved...giving you the love your heart desires. ARH, My heart pains with your pain. Broken promises leave a heart shattered, like the broken wine goblet - though it may be pieced together, the scars will remain. But, more importantly, where is the refill of wine going to come from? Is it from a source grown with love and care - or is it merely a pretender, leaving cheap taste lingering on the tongue, long after it has left.... That, I think,is the real question. CG |
