There was a time when innocence was all around me A time when I had not a care on my mind Now I see though the anger and confusion that surrounds me I was young before, and obviously completely blind Tomorrow is our future, we all know it is true So therefore, we must preserve today Do not waste time on foolish tears It only allows the confusion and pain to stay My life brought to me a wake up call I feel the tides of the ocean sweep over me Thinking of the children I've never had From this hurt, I long for them to be free There was a time when I was clouded by my own innocence Now my eyes burn with electricity I strive for the very best I can be Never will I settle for mediocracy To put one foot in front of the other While enduring a lifetime of pain It's something yes to be proud of It shows how a flower can bloom in the sweet gentle rain "When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter" |
