To the first time I hurt and the last time I cried
I stood there and watched as faith and hope died
Clutching my secrets well within reach
Learning the lessons only pain could teach
Trying to live with it all bottled inside
I stood there and watched as faith and hope died
Through endless nights I've lain by myself
Denying the feelings I keep high on a shelf
Taking them down, only wanting to feel
Staring at wounds that just never heal
Putting them back, I silently cried
I stood there and watched as faith and hope died

THANK-YOU

Oh wow do I know this one...
Way too well.
It seems that faith and hope die along with dreams, aspirations, and joy.
I hope they can be brought back to life in you,
this is a beautiful poem.

Where've you been, Amanda?  Good to see you again.  A sad and poignant write, dear.  Hope things are well with you.

wonderful. i've been there many times before and i gotta tell ya you've captured this well. it's not long and drawn out...almost like a eulogy for faith and hope. and i dig that.

however i've found that faith and hope only die one way... if you kill them.

good luck.
thanks for the well penned verse.
