Listening to every heart

Rainer Taps Again

Almost rude,                 almost,
hush, all you other voices ~

now begging a spirit, just one spirit,
his specter,
“sit, please, once again,”
then eye the rocker as it leans
and steadies.

“Too long gone,” I think,
watching rocker lean in to me;
hearing, “too long engaged,”
and I nod, in true.

                                     Am I lost?

This, a question,
hesitant in search of soul;
hearing, feeling? Sensing an answer,
No, just not found.

I feel the begging begin
and patience?  It waits.

Too many believe,
                     his thoughts too kind,
many know you
                           better than you

This I realize, all too true.

His voice calm, serene,
identifying qualms…

his accent comes through,
the chair, it rocks,
you need to listen
to my letters…again

and we spend the night,
with yellowed papers,
by candlelight,
in past times thrown forward.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...

Enjoyed the whole poem.  I love this . . . it speaks of the past touching the present heart -- one of my favorite past times.

A remedial crush course and a blink of a rare glimpse behind the curtain.
