I play this game with myself;

which one will hold out longer?

it started off about sixteen years ago,

as we personified them
into brown bodied puppets,

they've run the gamut,
but basically the theme
has been the same:

one roastbeef and white american
on a poppyseed roll,
with napkin on the side,
which this martha stewart
school of etiquette failure
always forgets anyhow,

there are l7 left of them; he reminds me:
days that is,

until this prince of mine
will wear the cap of a graduate,

come september,
his perimeters will far exceed
the ones a proud mamabear
could only dream of,

which will give out first?

the days of highschool
or the brown paper bags i
unfold each clicked off morning?

doesn't really matter, does it?
either way,i'll be the one
here crying.

***i love you my dear son, forever and a day*****

Always a proud moment to watch one's chick leave the nest...in whatever way.  Yours just happens to be taking a road that will lead on to his future.

Congratulations, Graduate!

Dixie- This is the one day that I am both looking forward to and dreading... You have spoken greatly.
