The Affair

When their eyes met he knew—
He had waited so long for her
That even patience had to sigh;
It was in her sexy walk
And in the song like flutter of her voice,
A voice that gently blew her ebony hair from almond eyes
And carried her sweet smelling essence to his heart.
Though time had blessed her with age, the beauty remained,
Like a precious treasure encased in crimson and crystal;
To him she was forever young,
As her sweet kisses siphoned away his youth.

When their eyes met she knew,
She saw in his beautiful eyes a poet
For deep and passionate were his honest words;
And in his bronze skin she saw a king,
Searching for his lost ebony queen
But she was hesitant to the whispers of fate,
Not wanting to look beyond the horizon of love.
Many voices battled to be heard within her heart,
But the voice of time spoke to her of his youth
And made her doubt the realness of her emotions,
So she listened and cried herself to a silent sleep
As her young lover kissed her quivering lips
Stealing her fears and quieting his sobs.

Some call me “Fate” others call me “Eternity”
Because I humbly offer destiny or chance to the deserving;
There is fear for those peering down the dark abyss of hope,
So sometimes I might give a slight nudge---
But it is often a leap of faith
Or the chance of experiencing the unknown,
That wipes away those last crystal tears of loneliness
To allow love to embrace two destined hearts.

Marcel

OhMarcel~
The sheer beauty of your thoughts leaves me with a deep *sigh* of knowing
that the experiences you write of are from the depths of the passionate heart of a caring man who happens to be a marvelous poet~

A 'leap of faith' ... yes~

This is an undeniably pleasured read ... thank you~
