Freeing The Imprisoned Graphite

Is it merely waste, or something else?
This pencil -- the lead of it I mean --
goes right up into the little
tube thing that holds the eraser.

What is up there?  What hidden wonders
are bound up in that tiny brass oubliette,
never to be written? If I took my teeth
and pulled it off, sharpened the wrong end,
what glorious words would I set free?

These, so far.

You have such a witty imagination!  Let that graphite out now!  I'll be watching.

I'll never think of a pencil in quite the same way!   Enjoyed your imaginative writing!   I'm glad the words are freeing...

The things poet's think to write about.  This is most creative and much enjoyed.

Oh yes.... I'm kinda famous for always carrying a little spiral notebook in my hip pocket (last week...laundry...don't ask....)...I sharpen a pencil stub and poke it into the little spring thingy that holds the pages together...always have a Poet Survival Kit with me in case of a brainquake....it's amazing how much you can capture that way!

Keep that Poet Survival Kit handy! *S* Yes! *S* And keep that pencil sharpened... the end doesn't seem to matter... it's never waste when in your hands. *S*

What a unique, delightful work! *S* Excellent!

You are too good, leader. And I thank you for what you have done for me. I still have a lot to learn and I learn from you every time. You could teach poetry for a living.

Ed

I'd like to borrow that pencil some time and see if it could give my muse some new perspective on life.

I used to have the habbit when I was young of chewing on pencils...I can still remember the taste of those words.
