Reborn

Of all my summering, forty-nine told
Ripe with honey combed
For an advancing frost
Hived in my memory for another life
I recall the one of planted death
That I could not harvest
A bitter seed sowed in
The field of my existence by robber crows
Black with guilt punishing me
Through Autumn living
Scythed with conscious dread
Into summers numb with passing
Until the farm of myself
Received my birth at fifty.

I feel a sense of movement from the dark into the light.  I hope this is accurate.  I had to read this several times.  Very thought provoking.

Robert,
Weather and pests on the farms can never be predictable.  Some seasons just test the farmer's strength, and others cause celebration.  I'm glad to hear upcoming harvest.  Enjoyed.

Thank you Susan, snow and sadelite.

That's 3 readers beginning with "s". Now I WILL get mixed up!

I appreciate all your comments.

Robert

Robert,

Please do. As you could see by my lack of responses I've been trying to stay junk food free for some time.
But, as I can see, I've now found one more to add to the very few that feed my diet

Depth....I like the depth of this, and your lack of fear in presenting it.

Like I said before, you I will read for sure.
