Repose

I sit a Buddha in repose
And gather wisdom in compose
Grinding all the mill in will
By sitting quietly and still

Opening my port of mind
Reaching for surcease of kind
Sharpening my senses blade
By testing the arcade afraid

I wet my finger to the air
Ever testing what I dare
Mixing mortar with the grime
Spicing all with salt of time

And when the recipe be done
I bake it lightly in the sun
Put it on a scale of weigh
And counter it the weight of day

The soup is not a final goal
It only feeds my hungry soul

Reminds me of the rock soup story, Sy...
and for some reason, I find that lesson
to be very appropriate for today.

JM,
You have a sixth sense for picking phrases.
And with me you play a mean harp.
