Goodbye!  To all the helpless ones
I hold their tears in my eyes.
      No more to mirror the world’s pain
They’ve left a hole; to fill with rain,
I cry.

To all those who have lost all hope
their days they themselves numbered.
      The dance is stopped and it is quiet
Their voices were not always silent.
We deny

Any kind of share in the chaos created
from lost and used and scattered ones.
      Growing up without the guidance
of those that should have loved at first glance.
A lie

When told of unconditional bonds from birth
to look but never found in some; unnatural
      resulting in the breaking of fragile shells
brought to the brink by screams and yells.
They die.

   I interpretted this several different ways.  I share the tears and sometimes find it too painful to empathize without breaking, yet I've hung in there, but am on the brink of ignoring all the pain around and saying goodbye to empathy.  I hope you aren't saying goodbye to us.  Take care echo.
Your poem was full of depth.  I like it very much-it leaves me thinking.

Thank you everyone for your heartfelt expressions. I'm so moved that I could touch you all so deeply. I don't like seeing people lose hope - especially young ones who may not have ever known love in their lives and don't realize that someday they will if they just keep strong.

Sadie - Thank you for your interpretation of the poem. It meant a lot to see you contemplate a personal application.

And I am definitely not leaving PIP!!!!
