~*~

I'm going to spend the summer on my own
in a town faraway
by the sea by the beautiful sea.
I will look for you on the horizon,
recalling the way you tuned up my smile
and kept it working for me.

Cutting the wires and the ties
but never the strings holding my heart together.
Words fail me, but I wanted you to know,
they bring such comfort to my soul
and I will keep them safely,
where they shall always remain.

Oh girl friend, there is a history here
so dear to me;
forthcoming with the stories,
and the heart aches of our lives.
Serendipity, is such a sweet memory,
and forever will be.

Then there was you,
putting up with my dirty pool
and your gentle ways of understanding
of my moves and missed shots,
calling my bluff on cue,
and so many smiles.

I am not writing this in order
because frienship's don't work that way
but how I recall these days
and the gifts I've received in abundance
that enables me to move on.
Like a gold mine, I feel so very lucky,
I can count them on one hand.

And then came you,
you know who you are,
the one who signifies the passing of an olive branch
that means the most to me.
The reaping and the weeping,
bonding our friendship,
and the treasure I found in you.

Once upon a time,
I had a secret love
who moved in and out of the shadows
camouflaging the sun and moon,
strayng across the darkest sky
keeping me covered and warm.

And always I will remember,
when the summer storms my way
and the leaves fall from the trees
when the rain pours down the pane
and spring time blooms again.

Each of you were, and are
so much more than enough
and the difference a day made in my life,
accepting me unconditionally.
I do thank you for the good times,
for they are, in no uncertain terms,
the times I'll cherish most of all.

Truly beautiful Lori, you're a treasure.

Lori, brought a tear to my eye

Remember this.... 4/04/2000 ( took me awhile to find it..couldn't remember what names we wrote it under back then)

Casting the Brilliance

Moon shadows flickering long into night
As her brilliance illuminates land and Sea
Reflections, the rippling, the tides on the rise
The pulling sensation of she.

In the darkness of night, opals shimmer and shine
Alluring, enticing desire
Of the lovers who walk, hand in hand by the Sea
As they warm to the night's Moonlight fire.

A touch of romancing, the Moon and the Sea
Affects all embracing their view
As the dark of the night meets the light of the morn
The memories are made, shared by two.

Riding the waves, 'til they've crested and calmed
Until hour when sunlight shall rise
You beckon to me with the dampness, the dew
With an awakening look in your eyes.

We walk the edges, search out, finding coves
As the waves lap and reach out to play
Feel the gentle of breezes creating a kiss
'Neath the moon that is hidden away.

From the ocean cove, by the pale of  moon
Sighing sounds whisper of blush
Trembling voices, in chilled evening air
Heard over the lapping waves' rush.

As the sun begins setting, our passions fulfilled
Creating the hues crimson red
All will witness the Moon, and the glow of the Sea
As they cast off their brilliance they shed.

Moonchild &
Sea

What a straightforward and touching poem...

I especially appreciate:

I am not writing this in order
because frienship's don't work that way
but how I recall these days
and the gifts I've received in abundance
that enables me to move on.
Like a gold mine, I feel so very lucky,
I can count them on one hand.

Thank you Lori,  ~P

A highly "poetical" write, Dear Bluesy One!

This....hard to answer....so I will only say it's beautiful, and you will be missed not just for your poetry but also for yourself.

....and that I hope there's a computer in that little town 3,208 miles away, so you won't be completely gone from here, merely distant.

Bluesy,
I've enjoyed our time together on the web.  Enjoy the little town.  We'll miss ya and hope to hear from you when you're able to write.  I hope you keep a poetry journal while you're there!  (I think it is the personal contacts on the internet that keep me writing, surely not my discipline!) I hope you keep writing...  You're really a neat person!

I hope you grab every opportunity for happiness this summer offers you... and come back to share the smiles. *S*
