Notebook

I
left
it
in
a

pocket

seven poems

pieces of my soul

                    now
    you’re
                             upset

         lint            in
the
                                  dryer

Gads...
how many times
has a pocket gained a poem
only to be smushed
to a hard ball
in the
laundry...

This one breaks my heart... for the treasures we'll never read... and for how easily our soul pieces can be dismissed... even when they don't become lint. *S*

Excellent write, my friend... but how I wish this was fiction! *S*

yup, yup yup, sometimes such great ideas embrace my mind, and forget to write them down...off they go, into the dryer of life somewhere.  Good one

Ed

Those poems?  Perhaps there is a copy still, within.

Like Martie said maybe they are still locked within your mind. That's why I save them on the computer cause I tip my head and the ideas fall out.

At least you know where you lost them...one time someone broke into my car and stole a few in the process of grabbing everything they could grab...James

I guess I've come to accept it as it is when I lose or misplace or forget or put one of my poems through the laundry.  Some pieces we're meant to have and hang on to, but others we're meant to have but a moment and then let go of.

Neat piece of poetry.

You poor guy -- sorry you lost your poems. Lint in the dryer, not hardly!  Quite an interesting layout!   ....jo

scattered pieces, scattered themes! Your writing is always so intriguing.  I wish you could retrieve them!!!  Lost works of art...

Oh my, Ed. And when we write our soul down
when it comes to us, turns out the best poetry.
Doesn't it?

My own poems made of lint clutter up my brainpan.

(btw, I've done this as well)

Reading this reminded me to look for something important... and now I read again with doubled sorrow... mourning both the gifts from your pen we'll never see and a gift I'd intended to give. *S*

Blonde can be as dangerous as the laundry to unprotected words. *S* But at least my loss isn't compounded as yours was. *S*

Excellent work, my friend.
