What's in a word?

"Beautiful" is the lily of the field
The apple tree in spring
Limbs bowed with blossoms
The shimmering of the sun
Across the Caribbean blue sea

"Lovely" is the feel of satin beneath the fingers
The tender touch of color
On a woman’s blushing face
The petal of a dew kissed rose
Opened wide to embrace the day

"Magical" is the reaching of the hand to touch the moon
The shower of light from dancing stars
That rains down upon the imagination
Catching a sunbeam just so
That its rays brighten you entire being

"Interesting" is thought provoking
An exploration into meaning
And the impact its influence has
A soul searching inquisition
That challenges presumed suppositions

"Exquisite" is the gentle brush of a breeze upon your face
The caress of a lovers touch
As his fingers linger upon your skin
The fine lines of fluidity
In the beauty of your form

What’s in a word?
Everything and Nothing.
Enough and not enough.
It’s meaning more than written
Its influence more than said

Wow, dear Susan, this is LOVELY, INTERESTING, BEAUTIFUL, MAGICAL, EXQUISITE ... it could serve as a reference, when we don't have the time to comment more exhaustively, when we leave one word of appreciation ... and your poem shows how much can be contained in one word.

Great.
Love, Margherita

Susan~
This may well be the most thought-worthy post that I will read this day~

Creatively unique and yet, expressively representing the thoughts of so many of us~

~ This passage touched my very soul, Dear Sweet Susan.

Your own write was in itself "Beautiful, Lovely, Magical, Interesting" and ultimately  "Exquisite".

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your words ~ and the meanings you gave to them! lol

Linda

Ah, you all understood.  When I read such wonderful work, sometimes words seem inadequate to express how they make me feel, and yet, in one word such depth may lie.  Thank you all for your kind words.

Love -- Susan

Susan

Words are just what you say.... more and less of what can be expressed.  Really enjoyed!
