Antisense Technology for Memorial Day

Years, past ages, all gone, all but the remnant …
Where are we today, that ageless time gone, but its mere refraction?
Replacing honor, honesty, dignity, and valor, now instead abradant.
Willing to hone that surface with diamond blades, to gain frivolous attraction.

Have we become animals for amusement, listless of thought, except to our guide?  Strung on a leash, fed from a bag of dry scientific blends of nonsense?
Then I ask… take one day, just one, sit at the shore and experience its tide.
Gather your senses and think of what our nation is, not in cultural atisense
There is no disease to destroy, only your heritage, and your culture’s sea.

How can you cover the ocean to be unseen, unknown?
Likewise is this nation’s truth, it cannot be hidden, but distained only buy lies.
When you point at your nation’s story, it’s our history in that reflection:
our parents, grandparents, their grandparents, that true foundation.
Not perfection, not close, but yet it is our nation…

Tried and tested time and time again, this nation, from the time it began…

Citizens all, yet we neglected to keep out the science of man’s law.
We cry for justice, but we beg for diversity’s adjustments to widen the cracks.
Allowing the law its due, we continue to feed that shark in awe:
it has bitten off our legs, and continues to circle around our backs.

Are we such fools that we mock our own reflections, our own culture?
A history steaming with vitality, and honor, yet we color it as if it was a stain.
Is it our mother or father; is it our brother or sister, who we should blame?
They are the ones to be held in contempt and shame, those we should torture.
Our own flesh?

I ask again take pride in our national heritage and culture, not your own personality, not a pride week to color your skin, or your femininity, or your sexuality, or your masculinity, or your ego, or your own personal ails…

You are what you are, as all and everyone in this nation is, but you are a nation, a culture as one people.  Certainly not perfection, but in truth:

The best there could ever be… Americans all and free.

You ask only
that we return to basics...

not a huge request,
and the largest hurdle to overcome.

Well done, Sir.
