Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day I seek
It’s just beyond horizons peak
And though I sail and sail and sail
It seems to me to no avail

I cannot fix a point of stay
But only reach the end of day
And in the vast and starry night
I cannot seem to see the light

I’ve sailed a rainbow to its last
And found but echoes of the past
Gone beyond the rivers bend
Yet still, yet still, I find no end

Perhaps the very end I seek
Has no other side or cheek
Perhaps it is the sigh of I
The I of I and echo cry.

I point my finger at the glean
And all I see are fields of green.

I enjoy sailing,
Far too often it is just wishfully
Enjoyed the poem, wish I was sailing in a tall ship
